The Rowe Family, Plymouth Pioneers This is a photo of the pioneer James Rowe family who came here from Platteville, Wis. They farmed their first years on a farm a mile south of the Plymouth Presbyterian Church. This farm is now owned by Harlan Rowe [Harlan Rowe died in April of 1975], a grandson, and is the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Timmins [Bill & Shirley moved to LeMars several years ago (1988). He died in September 2001. Shirley is the current owner.] Mrs. Timmins is a great-granddaughter. [The land is farmed by Steven Rowe a great-great-grandson. The building site was sold several years ago, but I don’t know anything about who bought it.] Seated from left (front row)—Charles J. Rowe, a son; Ethel (Mrs. Bertsel Brown) granddaughter; Mrs. James (Salinda) Rowe; Edythe Rowe, granddaughter (now Mrs. Henry Eilks); Foster Rowe and James Rowe. Second row—Harlan Rowe and Lloyd Ewers Back row—Mabel Rowe (now Mrs. Earl Love); Nellie Rowe Ewers, a daughter and her husband, George Ewers; Hilda Erickson Rowe, wife of Charles Rowe. |
