CURLEW -- Population 275. On the M. & St. L. Ry. (Minneapolis and St.
Louis Railway. DAW), in the Rush Lake Township, Palo Alto County, 12 miles
south of Emmetsburg, the county seat. First settled in 1884. Has Baptist,
Christian and Methodist churches, and a bank. Exp. Adams Tel. Western Union.
