______________________
Tomorrow night when the Alumni banquet in
the Masonic hall is over the events of commencement week will be
finished, and the class of 1916 of the Red Oak high school will have
been regularly graduated. In reality they have already graduated,
the diplomas having been awarded last night (Thursday) at the opera
house, following the plays “In Cleon’s Garden,” and “The
Kleptomaniac.”
Wednesday evening the play, “The Lost
Paradise” was rendered by members of the class, and on both
evenings, there were appropriate musical numbers.
The annual sermon to the class had been
previously given, it being delivered in the Methodist church last
Sunday evening by Rev. Royal J. Montgomery, of the Congregational
church. His sermon subject was “The Investment of Life.”
The list of graduates is printed at the head
of this column, but the cast of characters of the plays, together
with the other numbers of the program are not given, they having
been printed in full in a recent issue of The Sun.
