June 1, 1911 - Ia.
Church of Christ Convention, held at Elliott ends 25 automobiles
shown above formed a parade to take the 160 delegates who had
attended the S. W. Ia. C. C. Convention to Griswold.
Nov. 24, 1910 - Shave
15 cents. Owing to the high cost of living we will charge fifteen
cents per shave after Dec. 1st. This includes shaving the neck. C.

Dec. 1, 1910 - The
Methodist Church has purchased an Atlas Acetylene Plant with which
to light the church. The tank will be placed in the ground 50 feet
from the church. It can also be used for cooking by putting in
burners. The ladies expect to use the west room of the basement to
serve meals.
Jan. 11, 1911 -
Brody's store burned. A large portion of the goods from the main
room were saved and stored in Halbert's new store and Lembke's
Garage. (May 14 - coal is still burning in the basement of the
burned store.)
June 15, 1911 - The
last board walk crossing was removed.
Aug. 17, 1911 - A band
of seven Indians camped on the river, and one who claimed to be the
Chief, was begging on the streets Monday afternoon.
Jan. 4, 1912 - The
first electric lights were turned on from the Griswold Power Plant.
June 27, 1912 - Grant
Braden's Threshing Engine was transformed into Braden's Railroad and
pulled over 200 people to the Christian Bible School Picnic, June
21st. They went to Bradens Grove, 1/2 mile west of Elliott.
