LEWIS
John W. and
James (Bill) Lewis married sisters, Mary and Vertie Wright. The two
brothers and the two sisters were born and raised in Marceline,
Missouri.
John married
Mary in Dec. of 1913. Their first home around Elliott was two miles
north of Elliott on the Abner Gibson - tenant farmhouse. In 1932
they moved to the Axel Lantz property. In 1937 they moved into town,
where they spent the rest of their lives. They had five children.
Harold Joseph
born Sept. 28, 1914. Married Desda Ruth Winterstein Aug. 30, 1934.
Harold was a member of the "One Hundredth Mountain Infantry" in
World War II. He was killed in Italy April 15, 1945. Harold and
Desda had four children.

Ray William born
March 13, 1916. Married Ethel Kunzie July 5, 1942. Ray died
March 2, 1964. Three children.

Febr.20, 1922. Married Phyllis Christensen Aug. 14, 1948. Served in
the Navy from 1942 - 1945. Went to Greenland in 1953 with a eight
month contract for work. John and Phyllis had three children.

married Philomena N. (Deana) Brownsberger of Anita June 6, 1968. He
owns and operates his own business in Elliott. Rock and Lime
hauling. Pat and Deana have two children.

Doris Susan
married Byron Harris of Red Oak Jan. 17, 1969. They live in Red Oak
and have two children.

James (Bill)
married Vertie Wright and settled in Elliott. Bill was the Marshall
of Elliott on and off from 1920 to 1947. They had ten children.

George served in
the Navy with John Jr. from 1942 to 1945. George was also Elliott's
