JAMES N. KINNEY
James N. Kinney
and Mabel Reynolds were married in Elliott, Iowa: Dec. 4, 1904. Mr.
Kinney farmed for several years before being a rural mail carrier in
Emerson for many years, returning to Elliott in 1920. Mr. Kinney
served as City Clerk for 6 years. He was appointed Postmaster and
served in that capacity until his illness forced his resignation.
Mrs. Kinney was a teacher in the Elliott schools, and was appointed
Postmaster after her husbands illness. They were the parents of two
daughters, Arvella (Thompson) and Lorraine (Van Hintum).
