LUTHER FAST
Luther Fast was born in 1865 and died in
1942. He was the son of Phillip and Nancy Fast.
He started farming in Douglas Township before 1890. He married
Ida Utley (1872-1934) at the home of her parents, David and
Julia Utley, also of Douglas Township, in 1890. In 1900 they bought
the farm adjoining the Utley place on the south, and lived there
the rest of their lives.
Floyd Fast, their son, became owner of the farm in 1942, and moved
there. In 1965 he sold it to his son.
Ethel, daughter of Luther and Ida Fast, married
Arthur T. Bergren in 1916 and they spent the married life farming in
Washington and Douglas Townships. They had four children.
