ALLIBAND
Dr. George A. Alliband (1875-1949), a native of Pleasant Twp., Cass
County, Iowa; came to Elliott Sept. 1, 1904 to practice his
profession after graduating from Creighton Medical College, Omaha.
In Nov.
1911, he married Stella Thompson (1891-1969), daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Joe E. Thompson of the Swede Street vicinity. She was a
graduate of Elliott High School and a school teacher in the country.
They were parents of four sons, Harold A., John E., George T., and
Glenn; and two daughters, Jean, and Dorothy (August 1918-February
1920).
Dr.
Alliband bought the Church of Christ building in Elliott in 1911 and
remodeled it into their family home. They moved to Atlantic, around
1928, where Dr. Alliband was associated with Dr. Jones in the Jones
Hospital.
Dr. Geo. A, Stella and Dorothy are buried at Hillside,
Elliott.
