Jan 11, 1933 Funeral Services were held at the Otranto Gym by H. F. Risse, Superintendent at St. Ansgar School and Pastor of Otranto Community Church, for Miss Katherine Von Ewertsen.
She had taught school for 14 years at Otranto. She was the daughter of Jacob and Agnetha Ewertsen. She is survived by three sisters: Mrs. George Woodley, Otranto; Mrs R. P. Sencer (Marie Mary) of Chicago; and Mrs. William Porten (Sophia) of St. Paul, Minn. One niece, Neda Porten, St. Paul and a nephew Robert O'Mears of Los Angles, California. Kate was born circa 1868 in Flensbury, Germany. She died Jan. 5, 1933 at Otranto, age 64 yrs. 10 mos. 27 da.

Mrs. Jacob Ewertsen died at her home in Otranto Sunday night. Funeral
