William Simpson settled in Rock township, in 1870, buying the northeast quarter of section 32. He now has his land in a good state of cultivation, and has rebuilt the house in which he now lives.
He was born in Liverpool, England, in May, 1830. When fourteen years of age he came to America, landed at Quebec, went from there to Montreal, where he stopped a short time, then went to Rockford, Ill., and engaged in farming, remaining there until 1870, when he came to Rock township.
He was married in 1848 to Catharine Flanery. They have seven children--Lizzie, Mary, Joseph , Charles, Katie, William and John.
