Fred L. Sexton, private, 82d Company, 6th Regiment, United States Marine Corps. For extraordinary heroism in action near Bayonville, France, November 1, 1918. Exposing himself to enemy fire, Private Sexton, with another soldier, courageously advanced ahead of their platoon and captured 5 machine guns and 14 prisoners.
