With Battle Stars;
Four Brothers in Service

RICEVILLE, IOWA — 1st Lt. Orville Severson is spending a furlough at the parental Ed Severson home. He was overseas for eight months in 1942, then-was sent back to take officers' training, after which he returned to the European theater, being there 16 months, returning to Boston, May 23. He was hospitalized for three months in France, England and in Denver, Colo. Lt. Severson wears the European theater bar with 4 battle stars, the purple heart with cluster, the bronze star, the silver star and combat infantry badge.

Lt. Severson has four brothers in the service: Sgt. Willard Severson in Nuernburg, Germany; 1st Lt. Erling Severson in Italy; Milford Severson, F. S. 2/c, in the Mariana Islands, and S/Sgt. Luther Severson at Sheppard Field, Texas.

Luther flew to Denver to see Orville while he was there.
