Miss Esther Pettit Married

Wedding of Osage Young Woman to Florida Business Man
Took Place Last Evening.

The marriage of Miss Esther Pettit, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Pettit, to Lisle Wertman Smith of Haines City, Florida, occurred at eight o'clock last evening, at the home of the bride's parents. About fifty guests witnessed the simple ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. H. O. Allen of the Congregational church. Following the wedding light refreshments were served.

The bridal couple departed on the midnight train for Omaha, where they will visit a week before leaving for their home in Haines City. They plan to make the trip south by way of New York.

Miss Pettit is a graduate of the Osage high school and of the University of Minnesota. She is a young woman possessed of charm and accomplishments and has many friends among both the old and young people of Osage, where she has always made her home. She is a member of the Pi Phi sorority of the P. E. O. society.

Her husband was until three years ago a resident of Omaha. He is now engaged in the banking business in Florida and is interested in the fruit ranches and other real estate near Haines City.

Good wishes for every kind of real success go with the bride and groom to their new home.

Among the guests from out of town who witnessed the ceremony were three girl friends and sorority sisters of the bride, Miss Edna Brown of Minneapolis, Miss Florence Bernhardt of Minneapolis, and Miss Edith Chapin of St. Paul, also Mr. and Mrs. George Rowell of Waterloo, the bride's aunt and cousin, Mrs. E. P. Allen and daughter, Miss Josephine, of Minneapolis, and the groom’s parents and sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Smith and daughter, Miss Ida, of Omaha.
