G. O. Blakstad is the son of O. O. and Betsy (Gullickson) Blakstad. He was born in Rock Co., Wis., on the 15th of March, 1852. He came to Mitchell Co., Iowa, with his parents, in 1853. He was brought up on his father's farm in Ontranto township.
He was married July 1, 1875, to Ingaborg Jeglom. By this union they have three children - Sophia, Laura and George Otto. They are members of the Lutheran Church. G. O. lives on the same farm with his parents and manages his father's farm. His father is afflicted with deafness.
Mr. Blakstad is a young man of good principles and habits, and has bright prospects before him."
