John G. Anderson

 

Born Johan Guttormsen, he changed his name to John G. Anderson. John was born in Gran, on June 16, 1859, and immigrated to the United States in the Spring of 1874, and in 1921, lived in Mitchell County, Iowa. At that time he earned his living as a farmer.

He attended the United Norwegian Lutheran Church, and was married to Karen G. Liaker on March 6, 1885.

In 1921 their children included: Gustav, age 27; Gina Lovise, deceased; Julius, 22; Lise 19; Anders, 17; all born in Mitchell County.

His parents were Guttorm Andersen, who was born in Gran, and died in America on February 9, 1904; and Johanne Gulbrandsdatter Saug, who was born in Gran, died in America August 14, 1906. John's siblings include: Christ Anderson, Buffalo Center, Iowa; Randi Halvorson, Buffalo Center; and Mrs. John Olson, Osage, Iowa.

His paternal grandparents were Anders Saug and Wife.

His maternal grandparents were Gulbrand Ulverud and Rønne Jakobsdtr.

His father's siblings included: Christen & Nils Skjervem Braaten, & Mari Bakken, all deceased at this time.
