MRS. SCOFIELD DEAD.
Old Resident of Timber Creek Township Dies This Morning
Mrs. Lydia Jane Scofield, widow of Andrew J. Scofield, and an old resident of Timber Creek township, died at her home, six miles south of the city at 7 o'clock this morning of heart and stomach disease.
Mrs. Scofield was born in Buren county, Illinois, April 16, 1844. She became the wife of Andrew J. Scofield on Oct. 23, 1863 in Henry county, Illinois. Mr. Scofield died seven years ago.
Mrs. Scofield is survived by the following six children: Mrs. Fanny Davis, of Des Moines; Mrs. Mable Miller, of Streeter, N.D.; Harland Scofield, of Laurel; William Scofield, this city and Mrs. Emma Snider and Leslie Scofield, Timber Creek.
Short prayer will be held from the home Friday morning at 10 o'clock. The funeral will be held from the Spring Valley school house at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in Timber Creek cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Eliza Jane Scofield was conducted from the Spring Valley School house at 11am today by Rev. W.M. Force of this city, and was very largely attended. There were many beautiful floral offerings from friends. Interment was in the Timber Creek Cemetery.
