REASTON B. HUFF, Principal of Grandview Academy, was born on the 18th day of September, 1844, in Wayne County, Ohio. He was the tenth of twelve children, whose parent were Charles Huff and Mary Cople. His parents were natives of Pennsylvania, and came to this county in 1851. His father is now living in Grandview Township as one of the prominent agriculturists of the county. The education of the professor was very liberal, and obtained at the academy over which he is now presiding. It will be in taste here to observe that Mr. Huff has been intimately associated with this institution of learning, and is not only now the directing spirit of its instruction, but he took an active part in the manual labor incident to the erection of its buildings.

Politically he is a republican, and is proud of his intimacy with those great measures that have been accomplished by the great Republican Party. In religion he is an active member of the “Church of God.” Socially he is cool and collected, and withal a man of quick and generous impulses, blended with nothing that is sinister or ostentatious. It would be difficult to find one better adapted naturally and socially for the honorable and arduous duties of an instructor of American youth. His constitution is powerful, and his whole appearance indicates to the keen observer a sound mind in a sound body.
