Rev. William L. Adrian

Most Reverend William L. Adrian
Was baptized at Clear Creek.
Born and raised on a farm near Sigourney,
Iowa - spent five years at St. Ambrose
College, Davenport, Iowa, and also taught
country school - before going to
Nashville. Did parish work at Victor, Iowa,
and was also teacher and athletic
director.
He is interested in children - his hobby
is manual training - realized his
boyhood ambition to become a priest.
He is bishop of Nashville, Tennessee.
Became bishop here May 6, 1936.
He graduated North American College at
Rome, Italy. Returned to St. Ambrose College
where he remained for 24 years as instructor,
principal, athletic director and coach.
