Gullixson, of Bode.   Mr. Anderson, age 28, earns his living as a merchant  The bride, age 22, is the daughter of Andrew and Ana Gullixson of Bode.  The marriage took place in Bode, IA and was witnessed by ------

Isaac B. Lyon of Livermore, son of Abraham Lyon, and Susan Barranger, was united in marriage to Mary E. Hinton of Livermore.  Mr. Lyon, age 27, a native of New York, farms in the Livermore area.  The bride, age 22, is the daughter of Simeon and Elizabeth Hinton.  The marriage took place on May 28, 1885 in Livermore and was witnessed by E. Hinton - M. Bradshaw, pastor..

 

Ole Olson Lee of Bode, son of Ole H. Lee  was united in marriage to Enyline O. Turk of Bode.  Mr. Lee, age 26, a native of Norway, farms in the Bode area. The bride, age 26, is also a native of Norway, and is the daughter of Ole Oleson, and Martha Colbensk Turk. The marriage took place on April 2, 1885 in Bode and was witnessed by Mrs Root and M. E. Root - Hariad Hurdack pastor.. 

 

Charles C. Lovering of Dakota (City), son of  John and L. Sinas Lovering was united in marriage to Della A. Simmons, also of Dakota City.  Mr. Lovering, age 22, is a native of Iowa, and farms in the Dakota City area.  The bride, age  20, is a native of IL, and is the daughter of G. and Letta Lanaz Simmons.  This was the second marriage for the groom.  The marriage was witnessed by Mary Barrett and Netta Simmons - marriage preformed by John A. Koob Justice of the Peace on October 8, 1885.

 

Martin Larson of Norway Township, son of Lars Beyeson and Martha Larson was united in marriage to Martha Erikson, also of Norway Township.  Mr. Larson, age 36, is a native of Norway, and farms in the township.  The bride, age 24, is a native of Norway, and the daughter of Erik and A. Calbenson.  The marriage was performed by A. Johnson, pastor on September 20, 1885 and witnessed by H. C. Lawson.

 

Jasper L. Mory, of Corinth Township, son of William S. and Catharine Miller Mory was united in marriage to Lanna E. Loomis of Humboldt.  Mr. Mory, age 28, a native of IL, farms in Corinth Township.  The bride, age 19, is a native of New York, and is the daughter of Duane J. and Mary Helen Norton Loomis.  The marriage took place at the brides home on August 17, 1882 and was performed by S. H. Taft, clergyman.

 

L. C. Magers, of Algona, Iowa, son of James and Amanda E. Megers was united in marriage to Lillie C. Atherton, of Bradgate.  Mr. Mages, age 28, is a native of Oregon, and  is employed as a mechanic,  The bride, age 18, is a native of Iowa, and is the daughter of Baldwin and Charlotte E. Ash Atherton.  The marriage took place in Rutland on November 2, 1882 and was witnessed by B. Atherton and Mrs. W. H. FlintW. H. Flint pastor of the M. E. church of Rutland.  

 

Will J. Maynard, son of Elisha and Adline Branne Maynard was united in marriage to Maggie B. Hays, of Dakota City.  Mr. Maynard, age 24, a native of Wisconsin is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 19, a native of IL, is the daughter of David and Mary Cancklin Hoyes (?)  The marriage was performed by Pastor E. G. Groat , Baptist minister. 

 

Michael. J. Myles, of Dakota City, son of Thomas and Catharn Nulty Myles was united in marriage to Margaret B. Slown, also of Dakota City.  Mr. Myles, age 25, a native of Canada, is engaged as clerk.  The bride, age 25, a native of Mescels, West Canada, is the daughter of John and Mary Hines Slown.  The marriage took place at Livermore on December 6, 1884..  The marriage was performed by Father G. B. Zigrang and was witnessed by Charles Myles.

Owen McKenna, of Grove Township, son of Toal and Anna McAllister McKenna, was united in marriage to Mary Cronan, of Humboldt.  Mr. McKenna, age 27, a native of Ireland, is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 21, a native of Humboldt County, is the daughter of Barney Cronan.  The marriage took place St. Joseph, Kossuth County, on August 23, 1880 and was performed by Father Zigrang.  The witnesses were John McKenna and Mary A. ?.

Shurbronn H. Miner, of Grove Township, son of Harlow and Susan Brown Miner, was united in marriage to Mary R. McHenry also of Grove Township.  Mr. Miner, age 26, is a native of Canada, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 21, a native of Humboldt County, is the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Hand McHenry.  The marriage took place on November 25, 1880.  The minister was George Foster and witnesses were Ann Foster and George S. Foster.

Benona McKinley, of Weaver Township, son of John and Lucinda Spangler McKinley, was united in marriage to Bertha Kinnear, of Weaver Township.  Mr. McKinley, age 25, is a native of Black Hawk County, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 21, is the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Kline Kinnear.  The minister was C. W. Clifton and the witness was Mrs. Addie Clifton.  The marriage took place in Rutland on December 15, 1880 

R. R. Minturn, of Shoreham, VT, son of Lloyd  and Anna K. Robinson Minturn, was united in marriage to Charlotte M. Burgit, of Dakota City.  Mr. Minturn, 32, is a native of Ferrisburg, VT, and is a civil engineer.  The bride, age 28, is the daughter of M. and Marianne Jones Burgit.  The place took place at Dakota City on June 18, 1881 with S. C. Bascom, of M. E. Church officiating.  Witnesses were J. G. Gilliland and D. E. Johnson.

Arthur Minion of Dakota City, son of Arthur and ? Griffin Minion was united in marriage to Florence L. Walker of Dakota City.  Mr. Minion, age 37, is a native of Ontario, Canada, and is employed as a railroad contractor.  The bride, age 22, is a native of IL. The marriage took place at Dakota City on August 21 1881.  Officiating was D. D. Halstead and the witnesses were C. Banks and A. E. Landers.

Fredrich Mathias, of Dakota Township, son of August and Amelia Pritcheck Mathias, was united in marriage to Augusta Ringes, of Dakota Township.  Mr. Mathias, age 26, is a native of Wittenburg, Germany, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 20, is a native of Germany, is the daughter of William and Wilhelmina Euta Ringes.  The marriage took place at Dakota City on December 3, 1881S. M. Adams, Dakota City Mayor, officiated.  The witnesses were Mrs. Opnca? and George Todd.  

Stephan Mitchell, of Grove Township, son of James and Mary Aldrich Mitchell, was united in marriage to Minnie E. Sherman, of Humboldt.  Mr. Mitchell, age 24, is a native of MI, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 21, is a native of Humboldt, is the daughter of Charles and Mary Tabor Sherman.  The marriage was officiated by G. J. Garfield, Justice of the Peace in Humboldt, on February 15, 1882.  Witnesses were V. Watkins and George A. Clark.

Peter Paul Marso, of Humboldt County, son of John and Magdaline Pagermiller Marso, was united marriage to Magdena Altman, of St. Joseph, Kossuth County.  Mr. Marso, age 31, a native of Luxemburg, is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 22, is a native of Luxemburg, is the daughter of John and Anna Altman.  Father G. R. Zigrang officiated on  June 20, 1882 at St. Joseph.  Witnesses were Peter Hinges and Mary Altman.

A. J. McLane, of Luverne, son of Richard and Milcha Dilahunt McLane, was united in marriage to Ida May Root, of Luverne.  Mr. McLane, age 31, is a native of Farriston, IL, and is a druggist.  The bride, age 24, is a native of Almond NY, and is the daughter of Jefferson and Mariell Hopkins Root.  Rev. Hendrickson officiated at the Dakota City wedding on July 26, 1882.  Witnesses were W. L. Davenport and Ida May Henderson.

Loren Madnesen, of Norway Township, son of Mads Lorensen and Anna Jorgensen, was united in marriage to Lena Larson, of Norway Township.  Mr. Madnesen, age 53, is a native of Denmark.  The bride, age 54, a native of Denmark, is the daughter of Lars Rasmussen and Anna Jensen.  This was the second marriage for both groom and bride.  The wedding took place at Mr. Madnesen residence on August 18, 1882.  Rev. H. Hendrickson officiated, and the witnesses were Nelson Frederkson and H. Logasen..

Anders Nordhstrom of McKnight's Point, son of Jacobson John and Marca Henderson, was united in marriage to Anna Louisa Carlson, of McKnight's Point   Mr. Nordhstrom, age 24, is a native of Backeled, Sweden, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 26, is a native of Feelepston, Sweden, and is the daughter of John and Emma Olson Carlson.  The wedding took place in Humboldt, on March 30, 1883Rev. J. McCoy officiated, and the witnesses were James Dean and Elnora Dean.

John Meirs. of Humboldt County, son of Chist and Christina Boutz Meirs, was united in marriage to Gust Wagner.  Mr. Meirs, age 26, is a native of Zarna, Germany, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age19, is a native of MI, and is the daughter of Mick and Ada Wagner.  The wedding took place in Dakota City on July 17, 1883.  Rev. E. H. O. Groat officiated.

William N. McAneney of Des Moines Township, Pocahontas County, Iowa, son of Patrick and Ellen Greville McAneney, was united in marriage to Edith L. Howell, of Des Moines Township, Pocahontas County, Iowa.  Mr. McAneney, age 28, is a native of Dublin, Ireland, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 20, is a native of Grant County, WI, and is the daughter of Louis and Eliza Swiers Howell.  The wedding took place at Humboldt on September 18, 1883Mary A. Safford officiated.  The witnesses were F. B. Nickson and Mrs. Nickson.

  William Moffett, of Humboldt County, son of Stephen and Betsey Parsons Moffett, was united in marriage to Luella M. Loomis, of Humboldt County.  Mr. Moffett, age 24, is a native of WI, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 18, is a native of Iowa, and is the daughter of Michael and Mary H. Hulsizer Loomis.  The wedding took place at Humboldt, on September 8, 1883. Rev. B. St. Clair officiated.

  Lewis D. Miller, of Humboldt, son of William and Louisa Chriger Miller, was united in marriage to Edna Smith, of Humboldt.  Mr. Miller, age 25, is a native of Vinton, Iowa, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 18, is a native of NY, and is the daughter of Benjamin and Caroline Gray Smith.  The wedding took place in Dakota City, on August 18 1883Rev. J. W. McCoy, M. E. Pastor officiated.  The witnesses were Mary Beemer and Clara McCoy.

Mayer,  of Humboldt, son of Fredrick and Christine Gassenre Mayer was united in marriage to Lucy Ann Desvied.  Mr. Mayer, age 22, is a native of OH, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 21, is a native of MI, and is the daughter of Jacob and Ursula Barker Desvnied.  The marriage took place Dakota City, on April 13, 1885Father J. B. Zigrang officiated.  The witnesses were J. Gesvenid and Emmie Desvird

George Mattison, of Humboldt, son of Pallon and Mary Erestinson Mattison, was united in marriage to Mary Marson Schalen.  Mr. Mattison, age 24, a native of Denmark, is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 22, is a native of Iowa, and is the daughter of John and M. Koob Patterson.  The wedding took place at Dakota City on June 15, 1885.  Father J. B. Zigrang officiated.  The witness was Nellie Schinley 

William Norbe, of Renwick was united in marriage to Augusta Flostrom, of Renwick.  Mr. Norbe, age 28, is a native of Sweden, and is engaged as a railroad section foreman.  The bride, age 27, is a native of Sweden.  The marriage took place in Renwick on December 2, 1882L. H. Briuk, Justice of the Peace officiated.  The witnesses were A. C. Hoyt, Frank Stoddard, Libe Metcalf and Harriet Briuk.  

Alex Nelson, of Norway Township, son of Ole and Ragnild Halverson Nelson, was united in marriage to Anna Paul, of Wisconsin.  Mr. Nelson, age 31, an native of WI, is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 26, is also a native of WI, and is the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Paul.  The wedding took place in Norway Township on December 10, 1883 (or 1882).  A. P. Aasevoid, Minister of the Gospel, officiated.  Witnesses were Nels Nelson and Oliver Nelson.     

Matt Nelson, of Norway Township, son of Nels and Christine Madson, was united in marriage to Tine Madsen of Norway Township.  Mr. Nelson, age 28, a native of Langeland, Denmark, is in engaged in farming.  The bride, age 24, is a native of Langeland, Denmark, and is the daughter of Mads and Anne Kassensen.  The wedding took place at he residence of Rev. Hendrickson, in Humboldt County, on November 18, 1882.  Witnesses were Louis H. Nelsen and Hands Madisen.  Rev. is pastor of the Lutheran Church.    

Peter Nelson, of Delana Township, son of Lars and Martha Wilson Nelson, was united in marriage to Elizabeth Olson, of Delana Township.  This was Mr. Nelson's second marriage.  Mr. Nelson, age 22, is a native of Norway, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 26, a native of Norway, is the daughter of Ole and Brita Anderson Monson.  The wedding took place in Humboldt, on March 24, 1883.  Amer Johnson officiated, and the witnesses were Nels Olson and Christi Johnson.

Mickel, of Humboldt County, son of James and Nancy Leary Mickel, was united in marriage to Mary McCaffery, of Humboldt, County.  Mr. Mickel, age 23, is a native of NY, and is a barber.  The bride, age 25, a native of Canada, is the daughter of Michael and Mary Doyle Mickel.  The marriage occurred at St. Joseph on November 18, 1884, and Father J. B. Zigrang officiated.  The witnesses were John F. Murphy and William McCaffery.  

Henry Norder, of Vernon Township, son of Jacob and Catherine Altman Norder, was united in marriage to Mary Klasse, of Iowa.  Mr. Norder, age 28, a native of Wisconsin, is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 18, a native of Wisconsin, is the daughter of Fredrick and Barbara Freday Klasse.  The wedding took place on May 24, 1885,  in Vernon Township and C. S. Bice, Justice of the Peace officiated.  The witnesses were Elva and Bryan Bice.

Notestine, of Humboldt County, son of John and Amanda Fleming Notestine, was united in marriage to Hannah James, of Humboldt County.  Mr. Notestine, age 28, a native of OH, is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 33, is a native of Wisconsin, and is the daughter of William and Spratza Hill James.  The wedding took place in Dakota City, on July 5, 1885, with Rev. H. J. Grace officiating.  The witness were E. M. Crass

George D. Osborn, of Dakota City, son of Simeon and Mary Osborn, was united in marriage to Rose L. Martin, of Palo Alto, County.  Mr. Osborn, age 25, a native of Owatomia, MN, is a merchant.  The bride, age 22, a native of Iowa, is the daughter of John D. and Mary J. Caruthers Martin.  The marriage took place on October 9, 1882 and was officiated by M. A. Safford and was witnessed by A. D. Franklin and Mrs. B. M. Simmons.

Carl Ostland, of Humboldt County, son of Olaf and Marie Johnson Ostland was united in marriage to Louisa Olson, of Humboldt County.  Mr. Ostland, age 20, is a native of Sweden, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 20, also a native of Sweden, is the daughter of Olaf and Marie Larson Nilsson.  The wedding took place at the residence of John Foster, in Corinth Township, on June 17, 1882M. A. Safford, officiated and the witnesses were A. D. Franklin and Mrs. B. M. Simmons.

Lars K. Opheim, of Bode, son of Knud L. and Anne Colbcinsdts Opheim, was united in marriage to Maren L. Gangstad, of Bode.  Mr. Opheim, age 28, is a native of Norway, and is a merchant of Bode.  The bride, age 23, a native of Norway, and the daughter of Lars J. and Marlene Gunderson Gangstad.  The wedding took place in Bode on June 24, 1883 John Fackle officiating.  The witnesses were Severin Gangstad and Emma Gullixson.

Brynyk Opheim, of Thor, son of Knud L. and Anna Colbcinsdts Opheim, was united in marriage to Clara Opheim, of Bode.  Mr. Opheim, age 28, is a native of Norway, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 21, is also a native of Norway, and is the daughter of Johannes and Dortha Olson Kindsom.  The wedding took place in Bode, on October 1, 1884.  John Fackle officiatedWitness Beale and Kristina Kistemsen

Olson, of Wacousta Township, son of Ole G. and Krishaprshi Panecrinn, was united in marriage to Marie Gunhild, of Wacousta TownshipMr. Olson, age 34, a native of Norway, is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 21, a native of Norway, is the daughter of Adres and Marie Osher Olson.  The marriage took place in Bode on July 12, 1885.  John Fackle officiated and the witnesses were C. O. Norke and K. O. Korke. 

Omund Peterson, of Delana Township, son of Peter Omundson and Bergit Ginstensen, was united in marriage to Barbara Torjeson, of Delana TownshipThis was Mr. Peterson's second marriage.  Mr. Peterson, age 35, is a native of Landaus Omlid, Norway, and he is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 31, a native of Norway, is the daughter of Torje Torjeson and Ellen Olson.  The wedding took place at the Norwegian Church, Delana Township on September 25, 1881.  Rev. Sauer officiated, and the witnesses were K. Olson and L. Kinseth. 

John Peterson, of Nora, son of Peter and Brigit Gunstenson Omindson, was united in marriage to Amelia Julia Johnson, of Nora, Humboldt CountyMr. Peterson, age 35, is a native Norway, and is engaged in farming.  The bride, age 20, is a native of Ruberg, Norway, and is the daughter of Lars Jensen Gangstad.  The marriage took place at the Norwegian Church, Delana Township, on November 6, 1881.  O A. Sauer officiated.  G. Pederson and Lars Mikkelson were witnesses.
