Funeral services for Donald “Ernie” Zimmer of Cedar Falls were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and Cremation Service with inurnment at a later date.

Donald, 53, died Sunday, April 14, 2002 at his home of natural causes.

Donald Zimmer was born December 26, 1948 in Charles City, the son of Donald V. and Katherine (Simmons) Zimmer. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and was employed at Kay Park Industries in Janesville.

He is survived by two sons: McCaine of St. Louis, MO and Damon of Overland Park, KS; one daughter: Alana Zimmer of Minneapolis, MN; two brothers-: Michael Wheeler of Ashbum, VA and David Zimmer of Mabel, MN; and four sisters: Deborah Hughes and Renee Russett, both of Frankville, Kim Hageman of Cresco, and Lesia Stuelke of Center Point.

Donald was preceded in death by two daughters: Terri and Tammi, both in infancy; and his parents.
