WATERLOO -- Norma Mae Ungs, 77, Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002 at her home of natural causes.

Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Garup Funeral Service, South Street Chapel, Waterloo with Rev. Michael J. Mescher officiating.

Interment was in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo witji Matt. Ungs, Rick Rundely Jerry Sandry Jr Michael Widner, Rex Fairholm Jr., Gary Ross, Ryan Christensen, Jason Ungs, Ron Ungs Jr., Denny Ungs Jr. and DeWayne Swanger Jr. as casket bearers.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 with a 7 p.m. Rosary and also for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Norma was born Dec. 12, 1924 in Alta Vista, the daughter of John and Esther Vick Althof. She married Dennis Henry Ungs on Nov. 8, 1943 in Elma.

Survivors include her children, Marilyn (Rex) Fairholm, Nashua, Ronald (Sharon) Ungs, Sumner, Dennis (Jo Ellen) Ungs, Fredericksburg, Connie (Steve) Scoles, Denver, Sharon Rundel, Elk Run Heights, Diane (John) Ross, Elk Run Heights, David (Annie) Ungs, Waverly, Jeannie (Jerry) Sandry, Forest City, JSfancy (Dale) Widner, Waterloo," Timothy" (Michelle) Ungs, Osage and Lori Christensen, Dysart; 30 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Jackie) Althof, Jamestown, ND and Don Althof, Stoddard, WI and a special friend, Marie Swanger.

Preceding her in death were one son, Joseph; a child in infancy; one grandchild and one sister, Carmela Stevenson.
