Dale K. Timmerman, age 72, of the Marshalltown Veterans Home, formerly of Riceville, Iowa, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.

Dale was born March 15, 1929 in Riceville, the son of John and Martha J. (Olson) Timmerman. Dale served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Williamsburg. Dale worked as a carpenter.

Private family services were held at the VA Hospital in Iowa City. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or The American Diabetes Association.

Dale is survived by three daughters, Janette (George) Stokes of Stream wood, 111., Judith (William) Spence of Carpentersville, 111., Jocelyn Timmerman of Maumee, Ohio; one son, John (Jean) Timmerman of Kingston, 111.; former wife, Ruth Timmerman of Stream wood, 111.; one sister, Dorothy (Keith) Teeter of Walnut Creek, Cal.; eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
