WAUCOMA -- Paul F. Schmidt, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 at St. Mary's Catholic C^hurch in Waucoma'With Rev. Marvin Salz presiding. Agatha Burke was Lector and Eucharistic Minister.

Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Union, with Fred Rosenbaum, Duane Wurzer, Richard Bohr, Lathen Good, Gary Humpal and Dennis Boyer as pallbearers.

Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Waucoma Funeral Chapel with a 5 p.m. Rosary and 6 p.m. Scripture Service.

Paul Francis Schmidt, son of Clarence Paul and Elizabeth (DeBettignies) Schmidt, was born Jan. 16, 1916 at New Hampton. He attended school in New Hampton. Paul was employed as a farm laborer and served in the Army during World War If. After service, he wbrked on road construction. In 1956, he moved to Waucoma and worked for Chensvold's Sanitation Service. In 1996, Paul entered Prairie View Care Center near West Union and in 1997, became a resident of the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

There are no immediate survivors.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union, was in charge of arrangements.
