Ronnei, Paul H. 1924 - 2002NEW HAMPTON - Paul H. Ronnei, 78, New Hampton, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 a t New Hampton Care Center after a lengthy illness Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey and Pastor David Bergstrom officiating. Crossbearer for the service will be Misty Onken. Music for the service will be provided by Edith Kolthoff as organist and Travis Bouska as vocalist. Interment will be in New Hampton City Cemetery with Tim Denner, Troy Reicks, Lowell Stolfus, George Allen, Denny Paul and Mike Pint as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Pietan, Dale Pietan, Larry Pietan, Bill Pietan, Dan Pietan, Mitch Ronnei, Virgil Peters and Guido Brinks. Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m.- Monday, Nov. 4 a t Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton and will also be an hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Paul was born Aug. 21, 1924 in St. Ansgar, the son of Peter H. and Martha Anderson Ronnei. He attended Lawler Public School. On Jan. 3, 1952 a t St. Mary's Rectory, New Hampton, he married Noreen 'Nin' O'Connor. Paul worked as a truck driver for the former Wilkens Freight, New Hampton and then in 1962 began working for the Iowa State Department of Transportation plowing snow, as a truck driver and in later years as a mechanic. He retired in 1986. Paul enjoyed fixing his lawn mowers, fishing, turtle fishing and playing cards, especially Euchre. Survivors include one daughter, Molly (Marty) Onken, New Hampton; two sons, Lad (Cheryl) Ronnei, Fredericksburg and Nub Ronnei, Nashua; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Swede Shores, Little Turkey. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Nin, in 1990; one sister, Marie Pietan and a great-grandson, Tyler Ronnei.
