Moldenhauer, Ted G. 1924 - 2002FREDERICKSBURG -Ted After returning from World G. Moldenhauer, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.., Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg with Pastor Rose Calderon-Khan officiating. Music was provided by Gail Allison as organist accompanying Faye Elliott as vocalist.. Hymn selections included "On Eagle's Wings" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee". Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg with Ray Niewoehner, Mike Fried-hof, Curt Gruenberg, Don Triplett, Mark Gruenberg and Dick Schlindwein serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers included Leon Schutte, Vernon Kerr, Robert Mattke, Robert Davis, Dick Thompson and Jim McFarland. Tea was born April 15, 1924 in Sioux City, the son of Harold Moldenhauer and Jeanne (Kruth) Smith. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1941. After graduation, he served in the European Theater from 1943 to 1946. After returning from World War II, he became a charter member of the Amvets and a member of the American Legion. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Upham on June 7, 1953 at the Methodist Church, Fredericksburg. He was in business in Fredericksburg for 50 years and owner of Moldenhauer Oil Co. for 40 years. He was a lifelong resident of the Fredericksburg area. He was a director on the board of the Oil Petroleum Marketers of Iowa, served as a volunteer firefighter, was a member of the Commercial Club and served as a director of the Northeast Iowa Bank. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shriners and the United Methodist Church. In 1997, he was honored to serve as Grand Marshal of the Fredericksburg Dairy Day parade. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; one step-sister, Nina McClure; three aunts, Ellen Grove, Beulah Quisling and Ruth Kruth; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
