Jeanette L. (Myers) Mesner, 70, of New Milford, Conn., died at a nursing home in Kent, Conn, on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Mesner, Jr.

Funeral services were held at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Newtown with Rev. Gregory J. Wismar officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bethel.

Jeanette was born in Riceville, Iowa, daughter of the Fred and Hilda (Lubbert) Myers.

She lived in Bethel for 30 years prior to moving to New Milford. She had been employed as an executive secretary for the Berol Corporation (Eagle Pencil), and in her earlier years as a secretary for the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. She retired from Berol in 1981.

Surviving are her son, Richard G. (Lisa) Mesner, III of New Milford; her daughter, Elaine M. (Anthony) Gonzalez of Middlebury, Conn.; two grandchildren; four brothers, Myron Myers of Riceville, Iowa, her twin, Eugene Myers of Mound, Minn., Ivan Myers of Kansas City, Missouri, and Luverne Myers of Lincoln, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
