Law, John 1937 - 2002John Law, 65, Charles City, died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, with Monsignor Stanley Hayek, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Military honors were conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit. John Bruce Law was born December 5, 1937, at Fort Dodge, the son of John R. and Monica (Rapp) Law. He graduated from Riceville High School in 1956. John served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1965. On July 10, 1959, he was united in marriage to Bernadette Halligan at Osage. Bernadette died on December 14, 1979. In August of 1987 he was united in marriage to Norma Hansen. Norma died in 1992. , John worked all his life as a truck driver. Just before his retirement he was employed at Allied Construction. John enjoyed playing slot machines, cards, visiting friends and spending time with his family. His mechanical abilities were seen as he worked with his hands and in being a general handyman. Living family members include five children, Vicki Krumwiede (David) of Charles City, Bob Law (Maria) of Cedar Falls, Susan Bouska (David) of Las Vegas, Nev., and John Law (Jennifer), and Tim Law, both of Cedar Falls; 15 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and three sisters, Ann Marcalus (Fred) of Jewell, Linda Bartels (William) of Dyersville, Iowa, and Marjorie Young (Gene), of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, and three sons, David in 1998, and Steven and Brian in infancy.
