Knapp, Troy L. 1918 - 2002CHARLES CITY - Troy L. Knapp, 84, of Charles City, IA, passed away Monday morning December 30, 2002 at North Iowa Hospice in Mason City of complications following a stroke suffered December 25, 2002. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, January 3, 2003 at Trinity Methodist Church in Charles City. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery at Nashua. Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2003 from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services a t the church on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the family. Troy L. Knapp was born on October 4, 1918 in rural Nashua, IA to Vern and Grace (Harmon) Knapp. He attended Maple Grove Country School. Troy was married to Anna Conner on January 12, 1948 in Charles City. Troy worked for Charles City Implement and Nashua Implement as Parts & Service Manager and farmed, retiring in 1997. Troy served as Sgt. during WWII, where he was injured in a B-29 mission over the Asiatic-Pacific territory. Survivors include his wife Anna M. Knapp of Charles City; one son, Lonnie (Nancy) Knapp of Hemet, CA; one daugter, Shirley (Joel) Rasmussen of Clear Lake; five grandchildren: Eric, Jaime and Dusty Knapp, Adam and Alicia Rassmussen. Preceding him were his three brothers: Lowell, Dale and Vernon, Jr; five sisters: Alice Johnson, Avis Downs, Ethel Allison, Lucille Pevestorf and Neva Ullrich.
