Hollingsworth, Virginia nee Donovan nee Upham1920 - 2002^NEW HAMPTON - Virginia (Donovan) Hollingsworth, 81, New Hampton, died Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton of natural causes. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22 at St. Joseph Catholic dhurch, with Rev. Carl Schmitt celebrating the mass. The pall was placed on the casket oy three of her children. Lectors for the service were her two grandchildren, D.W. Donovan and Molly Morreim. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton witn Jo Kerwick, Dick Recker, Kevin Kennedy, Jim O'Connor, Dale Gates and Ray Klenske as allbear^rs. Honorary pa 11-earers were Ralph Kennedy, Frank Hollingsworth, Norb Steffen, Bob Rigler, Joe Shee-hy, ‘Rosemary Huffman and Snaron Bunger. Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton where there was a 4 p.m. Rosary, a 7 p.m. Scripture service and a 7:30 p.m. Video Memorial Tribute. Further visitation was an hour prior to the funeral at the church. Virginia was born July 30, 1920 in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Clarence and Izetta (Gouldsberry) Upham. At the age of two, the Upham family moved to New Hampton where Virginia attended school and graduated from. New Hampton High School in 1938. On Jan. 6, 1940, she married Timothy Donovan. Virginia worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture where she sold crop insurance from 1966 until retiring in 1982. She married Niles Hollingsworth on Dec. 25, 1972. Virginia was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Rosary Society and a 50 plus member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and excelled at swimming and golf. Survivors include two sons, Mark (Cristin) Donovan, Springfield, VA and John (Sharon) Donovan, Cascade; two daughters, Maggie (Kenny) Miller, New Hampton and Mary Catherine Siccama, Honolulu, HI; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Timothy Donovan, in 1971; her second husband, Niles, in 1986; one brother, Dale Upham and a sister, Beatrice Bone.
