Harrington, Elizabeth "Betty" L. nee Meyers 1932 - 2002IONIA — Elizabeth "Betty" Harrington, 70, Ionia, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton of natural causes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Ionia with Reverend John Hemann officiating. Dan Britt will be the organist and accompany the St. Boniface Church Choir singing "Amazing Grace", "Here I Am Lord", "Only A Shadow" and "On Eagle's Wings". Tony Rotting-haus will sing "Ave Maria". The lector for the service will be Merle McGrane. David Voves will serve as Eucharistic Minister. Elizabeth's children will place the pall. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery with Ralph Koenigsfeld, Marion Cagley, Calvin Poppe, Duane Zwanziger, Larry Crooks and Carl Crooks serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at the Ionia Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture Service. Elizabeth L. Harrington was born April 14, 1932 in New Hampton, the daughter of Cletus and Amelia (Roths) Meyers. She graduated from St. Boniface High School, Ionia. After her schooling she worked for Oliver Corp., Charles City. On June 15,1953, she was united in marriage to Richard Harrington at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Ionia. Following their marriage the couple resided all their married life in the Nashua and Ionia areas. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the St. Boniface Guild, the Friendly Bunch, two card clubs and was a regular at bingo. Survivors include a son, Roger (Mary), DeWitt; three daughters, Karen (Al) Wegner, Ionia, Sue (Tim) Thorson, Nashua, Jean (Dan) Britt, Waverly; ten grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Meyers, Lawler and three sisters, Jane McGrane and Linda Voves, both of Ionia and Sister Melita Meyers, Stacyville. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Richard and a son, Richard Jr.
