PFC. James A. Miller


PFC James A. Miller, 20, was killed in action Aug. 28, 1944, as Allied forces fought to liberate France from the Germans during World War II. Miller was awarded posthumously a Purple Heart.

Miller of Guthrie County enlisted in the Army and served with the 29th Infantry Division, 116th Regiment.

Burial: Brittany American Cemetery, St. James, France.
