Staff Sargent Calvin Emmons, son of Laiton and Minnie Emmons, was killed in action January 6, 1945, just 3 weeks after landing in France. He served with the 242 Infantry Division, Company F of the 7th Army.

Calvin entered the service in August 1942. His father proceded him in death July 27, 1944.

Burial: Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial Epinal, Dept. of des Vosges Loraine, France.
