Funeral services were held Monday at the Lutheran Church in
Grant Township for Emil Wedemeyer, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. D.
C. Wedemeyer, who passed away the morning of April 16 at Fort
Flagler, Wash., where he had been sent to receive his military
training.
William P. Farrell of Pratt, Kan., son of
Mrs. Margaret Farrell, formerly of Adair, died in the base
hospital at Camp Grant, Ill., Monday morning, April 15. On
Feb. 18 he was moved to the hospital suffering from spinal
meningitis. The remains were moved to undertaking parlors and
hermetically sealed and prepared for transport to Adair.
Four Adair young men answered the call to the colors and
have entered service in the National Army of America. They are
Chris Brandt, Matt R. McDonnell, Thomas Farley and Charley
Largent. |
