Many Go To Navy.
 
Recruiting officer Roe has been busy the past week getting three bunches of men off for the navy. In all he has sent 23 men the past week. Three left Thursday of last week, five Friday and fifteen Monday. There was a demonstration for the men who left Monday, the Elks, Elks drum corps, Shenandoah band and boy scouts participating. The parade was formed at the Elks club and marched to the post office building to meet the men who were leaving on passenger train No. 2 at 6:12 for the Great Lakes station. The men were escorted to the depot. More men are needed for the navy and L.A. Roe, recruiting officer, can give any information wanted.

Those who left left on Thursday were Ralph Ogle, Berry Wheeler, of Red Oak; Walter W. White, of Coin.

Those who left on Friday were Lloyd M. Aldrich, Walter A. Daughten, of Shenandoah; Wm. E. Hudson, of Clarinda; Brown Gardner, of Red Oak; Ralph W. Buehler, of Emerson.

Those who left on Monday were Allen R. Johnson, Lafayette Harness, of Blanchard; Edgar C. Chapman, of Coin; Forrest I. Warren, of Atlantic; Morris Altaffer, of Red Oak; Everett Z. Plumb, Fred M. Peterson,, of Hastings; Ernest W. Lawrence, of Brooks; Chas. R. Kernen, Allen E. Coleman, Orville B. Stackman, Arthur W. Stackman, of Nodaway; Jas. E. Hatton, of Coming; Elmer W. Long, of Grant; Robert L. Martin, of Bedford.
