     George A. Bushing, private, Company G, 118th Infantry. For extraordinary heroism in action near Brancourt, France, October 8, 1918. He observed a severely wounded soldier about 100 yards from his post on a sunken road heavily shelled by artillery and machine gun enfilading fire. He voluntarily went out and carried this soldier to a place of safety.
