CEDAR RAPIDS

The Heavens finally got a hold of Patricia Elaine Engelhardt on Sept. 13, 2004, to come
home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial:
Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to
8 p.m. Thursday and at the Chapel after 10 a.m. Friday.

Born to George Robert and Ruth Pauline (Hawley) Goodall on Oct. 5, 1941, at home in Cedar
Rapids, she lived and grew up in Cedar Rapids but traveled to northern Iowa with a friend
to meet the man of her dreams, Donald Helmuth Engelhardt. Patricia and Donald were married
on March 19, 1961, in her parents' home. After settling in Cedar Rapids they started a family.
To them was born a son then a year later, a daughter. Not knowing if she was to have any
more she was given another daughter Donell six years later during the flood of 1969.
Flooded out of their home they found a nice little house in Shellsburg to raise their family.
Patricia and Donald lived very happy there for 30 years but Donald lost his life to cancer
in 1996.

Patricia then proceeded to do the thing she did best, taking care of her family. She was active
in the family. She was the secretary to our Goodall Reunion, past vice president to our Coay
Reunion. She and her mother made many crafts for them both. Her love of all her family was
very vital to her. She was the family historian. She knew everyone and everyone knew her.

Patricia was a homemaker while her children were growing up but went to work at Edgewood Manor
before getting the chance to go back to Rockwell Collins. During layoffs she worked at Wal-Mart
in the fabric department. She retired from Rockwell in 1996.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald; her father, George (Bob);
her brothers, David and Dale; and her stepgranddaughter, Elizabeth Feltes.

Her legacy and honor lives in her family still here: her mother, Ruth; her son and his
wife, a daughter and her husband, and her daughter, with whom she lived; her sister, her
brother, her baby sister; her grandchildren and many other family members to whom she loved
and enjoyed their company.
