BARBARA (HOFFMAN) FRITZ was born in Driesbauch, Germany, June 19, 1813, and died at her home two miles south of Germanville Oct. 9, 1897. Married JACOB FRITZ Apr. 16, 1833 and came to Iowa with her husband and family Aug. 1, 1854. The husband died at the same place Oct. 20, 1880. Ten children, all living except two. Those living are four sons and four daughters: PETER, MIKE, JOHN, and MRS ANDREW KESSEL, living near Brighton; one son, JACOB, at Ottumwa, MRS BARBARA SCHIPPERT and MRS EMMA DANKWORTH at Burlington, and MRS. CHRISTENA SCHRUITS at Mt. Pleasant. There were also 57 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. Funeral Monday at 10 o'clock at the church of St. Peter and Paul at Germanville, of which she was an earnest and consistent member.
