Connecticut Van Buren County, Iowa Probate File 937 Last Will and Testament of Augustus Crane I Augustus Crane of Lick Creek Township Van Buren County and State of Iowa in the Seventy Seventh year of my age in Sound mind and tolerable health considering the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and wishing a fair and equal distribution of my property between my children, do make this writing my last will and testament this 5th day of September A.D. 1872. 1st. I do give, bequeath and desire all my property both real and personal, or Such amount of it as may remain after all my just debts are paid to my children. 2nd. At my death I authorize my Executors to sell all my property, collect all dues and divide it as follows: 1st. To my Son Augustus Crane of now of Idahoe I do give and bequeath the East half of my real Estate of W 1/2 of the S.E. Section (3) three Township (69) Range (10) containing 73 acres more or less. 2nd. To my Son Sherman Crane of Lick Creek Township the West half of the above described real Estate. 3d. To my Son Charles Crane, Angenora Elmor, Thirty Dollars each. 4th. To my daughters Clarissa Johnston and Lydia Dunn the Sum of Ten dollars each 5th. I do hereby Select and appoint my Sons Augustus and Sherman as my Executors who shall give Security for such amount of property as may come into their hands. 6th.
