A DANDY DRUG STORE

_______________

Cherrington "Of Course" Installs Fine Mahogany Fixtures
and Iceless Soda Fountain.

Leon can boast of the finest fitted drug stores of any city more than double the size of Leon in the state. This week the improvements which have been in progress at Cherrington's drug store were completed and Mr. Cherrington now has a drug store of which he as well as the citizens of Leon may well be proud.

A short time ago a new and up-to-date front was put in the building and now a complete outfit of new fixtures has been installed which completely changes the appearance of the store. The new fixtures are mahogany finish, the shelving all being enclosed with sliding glass doors, so that none of the goods are exposed to dust and dirt, while they are visible. This does away with the exception of the cigar case. The wall paper and paint department have been moved upstairs and the prescription case moved to the rear of the store. The base for the shelving is green marble which with the mahogany fixtures gives the store a handsome appearance.

A new feature is the installation of an up-to-date iceless soda fountain, one of the finest manufactured, and back of it is the luncheonette department. The removal of the showcases from the store gives ample room for the fountain and luncheonette tables, and these are also up-to-date, being the new style glass top tables with display cases under the tops, the first of this style to be installed in this vicinity. The floor of the store has been covered with new linoleum, and everything connected with the store and fountain is sanitary and up-to-date.

The formal opening of the new fountain will be held on Saturday of this week. An expert dispenser, Mr. G. P. Wilson, of Des Moines, formerly of the Reed Hurlbat and McNierney drug stores in Des Moines, arrived Tuesday evening, and he will have charge of the new fountain and everything in the way of plain and fancy soft drinks and ice cream will be served. The luncheonette department of the fountain is a new feature and patrons of the Cherrington store will be able to secure a dainty luncheon at all times.

A general invitation has been issued by Mr. Cherrington for everybody to attend the formal opening of the new fountain on Saturday of this week. There will be souvenirs for the ladies, and Mr. Cherrington will be pleased to have every resident of Decatur county call and inspect his new store Saturday or at their convenience.

CHERRINGTON'S FOUNTAIN OPENS.

_______________

Last Saturday the elegant new drug store of C. A. Cherrington was thrown open for the inspection of the public. It is one of the finest drug stores to be found in southern Iowa, the fixtures throughout being of mahogany, and the entire interior of the store has been re-arranged.

The feature of Saturday's opening was the new fountain and throughout the day the store was tastily decorated for the occasion, young ladies serving the patrons, and the dispenser, Mr. G. P. Wilson and his assistants had all they could attend to until midnight.

Souvenirs were given to all who visited the store, Japanese kites for the children, face cream and bon bons for the ladies and cigars for the gentlemen. In addition to the elaborate menu of fountain drinks and dishes served, a feature of the new fountain is the luncheonette, and all kinds of dainty luncheons are served daily, and the new fountain department is growing in favor daily.

The Cherrington store is going to be a popular meeting place for th young and old and they will all be assured of the best of service and given a cordial welcome. If you have not yet visited Cherrington's store, better drop in and see a drug store which is indeed a credit to our city.

The above is a view of C. A. Cherrington's fine new drug store in this city. The cut was ordered for last week but failed to arrive until after The Reporter was printed. The new fountain at the store is proving a very popular meeting place for many people each day, who want a cool drink or dainty luncheon.
