Short Bio:

Mary C. Dunbar, born to William and Laura (Wells) Dunbar in 1857, and Anna Dunbar was born to William and Laura (Wells) Dunbar in 1863. They were born in Iowa.

Mary C. Dunbar married James A Rauch in 1875. She was in 1860 and 1870 census, Fayette Twp., 1880, 1885, 1895, 1900, 1905, and 1910 censuses in Grand River Twp, Decatur County, Iowa. Mary (Dunbar) Rauch is buried in the Elk Cemetery.

Anna E. Dunbar married Lambert Lay Brooks 25 Jan 1882 in Decatur County, Iowa. She was in 1870 census, Fayette Twp., and 1900 census, Colby, Thomas County, Kansas. Anna died 22 May 1937, Everett, Snohomish County, Washington.

Anna (Dunbar) Brooks and her husband, Lambert, raised three of the orphaned King children. The orphans were the three youngest children of her sister, Mariah. They were raised in Washington State.


Henry Milton King and Mariah Elizabeth Dunbar were married 12 Dec. 1880 at Decatur County, Iowa. Mariah Dunbar was born 1859 in Decatur County, Iowa to William and Laura (Wells) Dunbar. Mariah was listed in the following censuses: 1860 and 1870 in Fayette Twp and 1885 (King Surname) in Grand River Twp.

Mariah died 14 Dec. 1892 at Greeley, Colorado, and her husband Henry King died two years later leaving 6 orphaned children.

John Dunbar and his wife Mary C. (Rauch) Dunbar. John came to Decatur County in 1860 from Marion, Ohio. Mary C. Rauch was born in Highland County, Virginia.
