ANTHONY M. McCOLL

 

 


Member of the Board of Control of state institutions, was born in Caledonia, Livingston county, N.Y., May 19, 1858. He moved with his parents to Iowa in 1876. For many years he was engaged in farming and the lumber and grain business at Woodward, Iowa, and for three terms was clerk of the district court of Dallas county. Was elected state senator from the seventeenth district in 1910 and re-elected in 1912. Appointed a member of the board of control by Governor Clarke to succeed Gifford S. Robinson, whose term expired June 20, 1913. appointed by Governor Harding for a term of six years ending June 30, 1925, and reappointed by Governor Hammill for full term ending June 30, 1931. A republican in politics.
