The April term of District Court closed Saturday morning. The following is a summary of the cases considered and their disposition:
State of Iowa vs. F. L. Smith, vagrancy. Plead guilty. Sentenced to thirty days in jail
State of Iowa vs. Jack Faghan, vagrancy. Plead guilty. Sentenced to thirty days in jail.~~

District Court - September Term:
The grand jury had more criminal work than they have had for some time, considering ten cases. Eight indictments were brought and two cases continued. The indictments brought were as follows:Henry Kuehl, arson.
Wm Rodgers, arson (two indictments.
Nick Rodgers, arson.
John Walch, larceny.
M. F. Whittle, assault.
Mike Lynch, assault.
Chas. J. Wolf, violating quarantine.The cases considered and their disposition is as follows:
State of Iowa vs. Elenore Bixby, appeal, continued.
State of Iowa vs. Wm. Knospe, Peace Bond. Defendant discharged on payment of costs. Bond exonerated.
State of Iowa vs. Harold Robbins. Indictment. Continued.
State of Iowa vs. Henry Kuehl, indictment for arson. Defendant plead guilty and was sentenced to reformatory at Anamosa not to exceed twenty years.
State of Iowa vs. Wm. Rodgers. Two indictments for arson. Defendant plead guilty on both counts and received a sentence of not to exceed ten years on one and twenty years on the other at the reformatory at Anamosa.
State of Iowa vs. Nick Rodgers. Indictment for arson. Defendant plead guilty and was sentenced to reformatory at Anamosa for not to exceed ten tears.
State of Iowa vs. John Walsh. Indictment for larceny. Defendant plead guilty and was sentenced to the reformatory for not to exceed five years.
State of Iowa vs. M. C. Welch. Indictment for forgery. Defendant plead guilty and was sentenced to reformatory for not to exceed fifteen years and to pay a fine of $100.~~

State of Iowa vs. M. F. Whittle - Indictment. Case tried before jury, which found defendant guilty of assault and battery. Fined $100.00 and costs.
