Conrad Ulrich
Monona Twp.

Conrad Ulrich, farmer and stock-raiser, was born in Bavaria, Germany, on the 22nd day of October, 1813. In 1834 he married Maria Kreig, who was born in the same place on Feb. 16, 1815. Three children were born there, viz.: John, Jacob and Margaret. In 1846 he left his native country and came to Ripley County, Ind., where he remained eight years; then removed to Allamakee County, Ia., where he purchased land and made a farm. In 1866 he came to Clayton County, settling in Monona Township, where he still resides. After coming to this country two children were born-- George and James. Though coming to this country in limited circumstances, by hard work and judicious management Mr. Ulrich has accumulated a fine property and home, and is classed among the well-to-do farmers of this township. He owns 160 acres of beautiful land, under cultivation, and valued at $50 per acre. They are members of the Evangelical Association of Giard.
