The Waters residence was located on the Burton Waters farm NE 160 of Section 28 Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County. Built in 1904/1905, the exterior brick was from the Clermont Brick factory. Photo was taken ca1915.

The house was built by Robert Burton 'Bert' Waters in 1904/1905 on his farm on the NE 160 of Section 28 Grand Meadow Township. This farm was where he and Mary Ann (McKinley), d/o John F. & Ellen, raised 9 children. Bert later owned and operated 4 other Grand Meadow farms, but this was called "The Home Place". The two youngest children in the photo are their 2 youngest children, Paul born 1914 and Robert born 1912. This dates the photo as 1915. The house was still there as of 2016.

~the information and photos were contributed by William C. 'Bill' Waters, great-grandson of J.F. & Ellen (Fleming) McKinley and grandson of Robert Burton Waters & Mary Ann (McKinley) Waters. The son of Louis McKinley, Lewis McKinley JR, shared the photos of the McKinley sisters & Water's residence with Bill. Lewis JR, is now 93 years of age. The original photo of John F.
