Purman family



Barbara Ann Burns Purman was born February 10, 1799 and died in 1885 Green county, Pennsylvania. 

Married March 21, 1817 to John James Purman II.

He was born November 4,1793 and died in 1838 Moral twp. Shelby co., Indiana where he had gone to make a land claim. Cause of death unknown.

Peter Burns Purman I,
son of John James Purman II & Barbara Ann Burns, was born March 2,1825 and died July 3, 1920. He married first to Nancy A. Woods and second to Martha (Brookshire) Gilson, a widow with two children.

Andrew, born March 10, 1856 and died March 22, 1901, burial in Mt. Harmony cemetery. He married Miranda M. Penhollow.
George, born 1859, buried at Brown cemetery.
Olive, born January 28, 1862 and died 5 August 5, 1947 in Mallory Twp. Clayton county. She married John Franklin Long in 1891.
Carrie, born 1863. Married Charles Landis. She's buried in Hansel cemetery.

Sarah Elizabeth Purman was born November 10, 1854 in Lima, Ohio and died July 6,1937, buried in Brown cemetery, Colesburg. She married Isaac Newton Walters, s/o Aaron Jackson Walters and Melinda S Cooper. He was born November 16,1848 and died June 23, 1921, buried Hansel cemetery.



John Purman

The sixth child of Peter Burns Purman 1st & Nancy A. Woods, John was born in 1866 and died December 12, 1947. Burial is in Mt. Harmony cemetery.

He married Annetta  White. She died in Texas where her son Ernest lived. 

John & Annetta's children were Jeanette, Mae, Ernest, Lee, Raymond and Mary. The last three all died as young children and are buried at Mt. Harmony cemetery.

Mary Purman, daughter of Peter Burns Purman I and Martha Brookshire, was born November 26, 1870.

She taught school for a number of years before getting married. 1893 she was teaching in the Dingesville school, Mallory Twp. The photo was taken when she was teaching at this school.

In 1897 she was married to Marshall Bollman at Garber.

Mary died July 18, 1956 at Lemon, South Dakota.
