H. E. Arnold Family

 

John Lightfoot Turner homesteaded in Clarke County on the farm now known as the Clarence Young farm. He spent his entire life in the Murray area. He helped organize the Church of Christ in Murray and was one of the first elders. Decendants have followed through as officers and leaders of the church since. He was the father of Geo. W. Turner. (Emma Johnson Turner made the wedding dress she is wearing by hand.)

 

 

Eugene Arnold and Mae Turner Arnold

 

George W. Turner and Emma Johnson were married in 1880. They were the parents of Mae Arnold, Hazel Schroeder, Carl and Pearl Turner. He was a farmer in the Murray vicinity his entire life.

S. P. Arnold was married to Sarah Baker Arnold and moved to Murray in the fall of 1899. They spent their entire life here. He farmed for a period of time and then was in business for a number of years.

They were the parents of Roy, Florence LeMoine, Charles (Dec. at 16 years), Myrtle Ricketts, Grace Fenn, Ransom, Mae Martendale, Eugene, Clarence, & Estella Roberts.

Eugene Arnold & Mae Turner were married in 1912. They lived three years in Wyoming returning to Murray to spend their lives. There are three generations of graduates in this family from the Murray High School. They are Eugene Arnold, his son Everett, and Everett's three children, Rex Arnold, Delores Arnold Seath and John Arnold. Gene and Mae have both been active workers in the Church of Christ for many years. Eugene being an elder for a number of years, also Everett has acted in this capacity for a number of years. They have two great grandchildren, John and Jill Arnold, children of the John Arnolds.
