Abe and Blanche Aten

Abe Aten was iorn in Decatur County in the year 1888. He married Blanche Morton in April 1909. Blanche was also a native of Decatur County. The first years of their marriage was spent on a farm south of High Point, Iowa. Two children were born; Kenneth now residing in Winder, Georgia, with his wife, Neva; and Ruth, wife of Ross Gould, now residing in Osceola, Iowa. There are two grandchildren, Gary Aten now married and living in Symrna,

Georgia, and Julie Gould of Osceola.

Abe and Blanche purchased the grocery store owned by Mr. & Mrs. Glen Kimsey in the spring of 1944. After the death of her husband in May of 1946, Blanche continued to run the store until illness forced her to retire. Blanche passed away in 1957.
