James Lyle Parker was born in Corydon,Ia., in 1924 and moved to Clarke County shortly after. Joyce E. Maffett was born in Hopeville, Iowa, in 1926 and moved to Murray in 1936. They were married in Osceola, Iowa, Feb. 22, 1944. They have three children, Patricia, Steven and Peggy. Pat is married to Bob Ward and they have two children, Danny and Douglas. Bob is

a barber and they live in Creston, Iowa.

Steve is in his first year of college at Creston Community College and Peggy is at home and in 4th grade.

Lyle and Joyce have lived in Murray since Lyle's return from the Navy where he served six years. They were in the restaurant business for seven years. Lyle is now manager of the Murray Lumber and Feed
