Orlo Fenn Family

Orlo Fenn lived all but the first five years of his life on a farm close to Murray. He was married to Edith Dewey on December 31, 1909. Her grandparents and father settled on a farm south of Murray in 1874. She was born on the farm now owned by Charles Franck in 1885. Orlo was a charter member of the Farm Bureau and a member of the Murray Public School Board for twelve years. On October 9, 1966, he died at the age of eighty-six. Edith Fenn still lives on the farm which adjoins Murray on the north. This land has been in the Fenn family since 1893, when it was purchased from the original owper who bought it from the U.S. Government.

Five of the six children of the family still reside in Clarke County. The only exception is Lucille, who taught scnooi several years in

Iowa but is now in the Downers Grove, Illinois, school system. Richard farmed near Murray for several years and now has a Radio and T.V. Repair shop in Osceola. Helen and husband, Harley Hale, farmed near Murray for a time and also had an implement business in Murray. He is a past president of the Murray Lions' Club. They are now located in Osceola. Alice taught in country schools several years and now lives on a farm east of Murray with husband, Floyd Edwards, and family. Everett and Clarence purchased the old Fenn farm at the west edge of Murray and operate as a partnership. Everett is a member of the Murray Lions' Club and will serve as president during the Centennial Celebration. Clarence is an active member of the Clarke County Fair Board and the Sheriff's Posse,
