| CEDAR VIEW CEMETERY Chickasaw Township This cemetery is also known as Chickasaw Cemetery. We reached it by driving south on Main St (some signs may have Beaumont Ave) from Highway 18 near Bassett, IA. From Main St turn left on 220th Street (also called Beaumont Ave). On the left side (north) of the road is Chickasaw Park. There are two entrances; one west of the Little Cedar River and one on the east side. Enter the east side entrance; a sign reads "Chickasaw Park County Conservation Board." Once inside the park there is a wooden picnic canopy on the left followed by a fork in the road. DO NOT go straight or veer right as this road becomes impassible. Instead veer left, it is the widest and best of the two roads. This road follows the river. Very shortly you should see a large metal gate with a sign "Park Property, Respect Private Property." Continue straight on this road (there are smaller roads which shoot off from this one which become impassible) until you reach the cemetery. |
